Ukrainian and U.S. delegations held a second day of talks in in the U.S. state of Florida, focusing on key points to define a durable and dependable security framework for Ukraine, U.S. president's special envoy Steve Witkoff said on Sunday.
The talks aim to establish a lasting and comprehensive peace agreement to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Witkoff said in a post on social media platform X.
The constructive talks focused on key points to define a durable and dependable security framework for Ukraine, as well as critical humanitarian efforts in the region, he noted.
The U.S. delegation was represented by Witkoff, President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and White House Senior Advisor Josh Gruenbaum.
The Ukrainian delegation included Rustem Umerov, secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council; David Arakhamia, head of the parliamentary faction of Servant of the People; Kyrylo Budanov, head of the presidential office; and Sergiy Kyslytsya, first deputy head of the presidential office.
The Ukrainian and U.S. delegations continued discussing key issues and the next steps within the negotiation track, Umerov said in a post on X on Saturday, the first day of the talks.
Particular attention was paid to aligning approaches for further progress toward practical results, he added.
Delegations from Ukraine, the United States and Russia previously held two rounds of talks in Abu Dhabi on Jan 23-24 and Feb 4-5, followed by another round in Geneva on Feb 17-18.
