The 2026 Global Developer Pioneers Summit, running from March 27 to 29 in Shanghai, has highlighted creativities that allow artificial intelligence tools to provide more efficient and appropriate services for all walks of life, as well as support for super developers.
The event features a contest where 50 super developers raced against time to turn their innovative ideas into products within 24 hours.
"I just made a one-click tool that can generate fashion model pictures for e-commerce use through AI technology. Traditionally, if you want to make such a picture, you need to let models wear your clothes and have photos taken in a studio. Perhaps, you can take only a few dozen photos in an afternoon. So, I made the AI tool where you can input the photos of both clothes and models. With the support of AI algorithm, hundreds or thousands of pictures of models wearing different clothes can be generated through one click. The costs are only one percent, or even 0.1 percent, of the traditional way, but the efficiency is much higher," said a developer.
A dexterous robotic hand as flexible as human hands has shone at the event, with the support of a precise force feedback control system. It can not only move light objects such as a piece of tissue or a blueberry, but also lift heavy ones like a large bucket filled with water.
The robotic hand is affordable for both large and small enterprises to resolve some difficulties in the pharmaceutical industry, precision manufacturing, high-end agriculture, and home services.
The summit, including a special area for investment, financing and policy services, serves as a matchmaking event for developers to seek business opportunities.
As part of the city's new measures to support the "AI plus" ecosystem, Shanghai has placed its focus on super developers, or one-member companies, whose technologies and creativities can have an impact on the vertical market.
Shanghai has offered them financial support like computing power vouchers and rent subsidies, as well as services in industrial demand, intellectual property protection, financial and legal affairs.
