Mass demonstrations swept Yemen's capital Sanaa and dozens of northern provinces, with crowds of up to 1 million people voicing support for Iran, Lebanon and Iraq.
Regional tensions rose further after Iran threatened it could open another battlefront against the United States in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait if Washington seeks "stupid" actions on the ground to open the Strait of Hormuz.
Such escalation will put one of the world's most important shipping routes at risk and raise tensions to levels not seen in previous crises.
Against this backdrop, rallies were held across 14 Yemeni provinces in more than 220 public squares. Protesters raised flags and pro-Iran slogans, rejected the U.S. and Israeli military escalation, and expressed solidarity with Lebanon and Iraq while supporting Iran's position.
"We send a message of solidarity and steadfastness with the Islamic Republic of Iran -- Iran, which is victorious over the forces of evil, by the will of God Almighty, and which has been able to defeat all the forces of evil, including the United States and those aligned with it," said Mohsen Ibrahim, a protester.
"We came out here to send a message of solidarity to the Iranian people, their leadership, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which is facing the most powerful tyrants on earth, the United States and Israel. We stand with them, with Hezbollah, with Iraq, and with the axis of resistance," said Khaled Al-Taweel, another protester.
