The iconic Montparnasse Tower, a prominent landmark in the heart of Paris, will close its popular top-floor observation deck to visitors on Tuesday for comprehensive renovation.
The tower, constructed in the 1970s, stands as one of the few high-rise buildings within the Parisian cityscape. Since its completion, the observation deck, situated at a height of over 200 meters above ground, has been a significant attraction, offering tourists panoramic views of Paris.
The upcoming renovation plan encompasses a complete overhaul of the building's facade, energy systems, and interior spaces. The objective is to transform the structure into a more modern and environment-friendly edifice.
The renovation period is anticipated to span several years.
