Iran's IRGC confirms 100th wave of "Operation True Promise 4" on strategic enemy targets

The Public Relations Department of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Wednesday that it had launched the 100th wave of strikes as part of its "Operation True Promise 4," striking 25 strategic targets before a ceasefire deal took effect with the United States.

In a statement detailing the latest operation, the IRGC did not specify when the 100th wave of the offensive was launched, though video footage showed the missiles being launched under the cover of darkness.

The strikes were likely the final ones to come as Iran and the United States agreed to a 2-week ceasefire shortly before a deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump was due to expire, with the two sides now set to hold negotiations in Pakistan.

Trump announced late on Tuesday U.S.-time that he has agreed to "suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks," after earlier threatening that a "whole civilization will die tonight" unless the Strait of Hormuz was re-opened.

The IRGC statement on Wednesday noted that among the 25 targets were 13 energy complexes and oil pipelines associated with the United States and Israel, as well as 10 military, security and logistical targets, and other technical and infrastructure targets along the enemy's route of advance.

The statement noted that the air strikes, which were made in memory of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was intended to warn enemies that any attacks on the infrastructure of the Iranian people would come at a terrible cost.

The statement emphasized that the guardians of the Iranian nation are closely monitoring the orders of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and are ready to engage in combat at any time if required.

The statement also said that U.S. allies in the region have witnessed the incompetence of both the U.S. and Israel and should learn from this, ceasing cooperation with the enemies of Islam. The IRGC said that the enemy has always been cunning and deceitful, and that Iran will respond to any act of aggression with even stronger force.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand in Beijing on Wednesday.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that President Xi Jinping and King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua reached important consensus last year on promoting the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future, pointing out the direction for deepening China-Thailand friendship.

Recognizing Princess Sirindhorn as an old and good friend of the Chinese people, Wang said that Princess Sirindhorn has witnessed China's reform and opening up as well as Chinese modernization, and has also devoted a great deal of effort and made outstanding contributions to deepening the friendship between China and Thailand.

China is willing to work with Thailand to take the important consensus reached by the two heads of state as the fundamental guideline, carry forward their traditional friendship, strengthen cooperation with Thailand in areas of concern to Princess Sirindhorn such as high technology, education and people's livelihood, and promote the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future to bear fruit and benefit the two peoples, said Wang.

Noting that the Thai side appreciates the support given by the Chinese side, Sirindhorn said it is hoped that the two sides will further enhance communication and exchanges in various fields, strengthen practical cooperation in science and technology, agriculture, medicine, culture, education and other aspects, promote mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and advance the cause of Thailand-China friendship.
