China and Spain will work to strengthen strategic alignment and policy communication, deepen industrial and supply chain cooperation, and create more mutually beneficial projects in promoting bilateral economic and trade relations, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce said Thursday.
He Yadong, the spokesman, made the remarks at a regular press conference in Beijing, highlighting steady development and fruitful results of China-Spain economic and trade relations in recent years.
Bilateral trade volume exceeded 55 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, up nearly 10 percent year-on-year, He said, noting that the bilateral trade structure has continued to optimize, with the proportion of high-tech and high value-added products steadily increasing.
The two-way investment stock has reached nearly 11 billion U.S. dollars, while industrial and supply chain cooperation has kept deepening, he said, highlighting mutual complementarity and resilience of the two economies.
The spokesman said the two countries signed two memorandums on cooperation on Tuesday, on the occasion of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's official visit to China from Saturday to Wednesday.
"China's Ministry of Commerce and Spain's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise signed two memorandums on cooperation -- one on 'Big Market for All: Export to China' and the other on strengthening economic cooperation and promoting sustainable investment. The two sides will strengthen strategic alignment and policy communication, deepen industrial and supply chain cooperation, and create more mutually beneficial and win-win projects," He said.
"Going forward, the Ministry of Commerce will work with the Spanish side to strengthen dialogue on economic and trade policies, and give full play to the role of economic and trade mechanisms and business exchange platforms, to promote in-depth and substantive practical cooperation between China and Spain," he added.
