As spring warms the land, residents of Yinchuan City, northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, are flocking to the suburbs for camping and enjoying outdoor leisure.
At the foothills of the Helan Mountains, groups of friends and families were seen gathering in camping areas. They sat together, admiring the layered mountain peaks stretching into the distance while breathing in the fresh air.
"I've invited a few friends to have a get-together here. We all love outing and they've brought their pet dogs with them. We chat and play around. I think it's really great," said Wang Yun, a resident.
The area was once a cluster of abandoned mining pits. In recent years, through ecological restoration efforts, it has been reborn as a vibrant green space full of life.
The Helan Mountain, at an altitude of 2,000 to 3,000 meters, is the highest mountain in Ningxia and Inner Mongolia in north China. The undulating range of the mountain forms a natural barrier against desert winds and sands as well as invaders, making Ningxia a peaceful Oasis beyond the Great Wall.
