A China-U.S. economic and trade matchmaking conference held Monday in New York brought U.S. companies together with enterprises from northwest China's Shaanxi Province to explore new opportunities for cooperation.
The event featured industry promotion, product exchange, direct business negotiations, and enterprise achievement displays, all centered on Shaanxi's advantageous industries.
Shaanxi has always been open to in-depth exchanges and cooperation, and hopes to generate more outcomes through the event, according to an official of the Provincial People's Congress at the event.
U.S. business representatives attending the event noted that China is an important supply chain partner, and strengthening direct communication between enterprises on both sides can help promote smoother trade cooperation.
"I think the event today was very important for the U.S. and China to continue dialogue regarding the supply-chain cooperation, particularly in my industry, which is the dietary supplement industry because China is our top supply-chain partner. About 70 percent of all the ingredients in our industry are actually produced in China. So it is actually essential that the U.S. and China have a smooth relationship," said Daniel Mabey, Asia region president for the United Natural Products Alliance.
