Adult pandas are seen cuddling, eating and wrestling with fast-growing cubs in recently released footage from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP).
The heartwarming clips capture innocent moments in the bears' daily lives at the center in southwest China's Sichuan Province, the heartland of giant pandas.
In the first clip, giant panda Ling Lang is seen munching contentedly on bamboo shoots, while her 2025-born cub, Ling Lang Zai, tries various tricks to grab her attention. The young bear attempts to cuddle its mother before playfully falling flat on the ground beside a heap of bamboo.
Another piece of footage features giant panda Rui Rui light-heartedly grappling with young male panda Ao Ke. Born at the CCRCGP in August 2023 alongside his twin brother Ao Ran, Ao Ke is the son of mother panda Xian Xian.
A third clip captures a cozy, heartwarming mealtime, with mother panda Zhen Zhen and her son Qian Xi sitting side by side, peacefully enjoying a bamboo feast. Qian Xi, a male panda, was born at the center in July 2024 with his twin sister Qian Xin, to mother panda Qian Qian.
The CCRCGP has built the world's largest captive panda population and pioneered rewilding research through captive breeding and training. It also runs a global cooperation platform, linking 18 zoos in 16 countries and regions with 39 domestic breeding institutions and more than 10 research institutes.
