Bilateral trade between China and Russia has exceeded 200 billion U.S. dollars for three consecutive years, underscoring strong resilience and vitality despite global challenges, said Ma Chi, deputy director of the Eurasian Department of the Ministry of Commerce, at a press conference in Beijing on Friday.

The conference was held ahead of the 10th China-Russia Expo, scheduled for May 17-21 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province in northeast China.

Covering sectors of energy and mineral resources, green and low-carbon development, cross-border e-commerce and biomedicine, the event is expected to boost industrial and business cooperation, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and deepen bilateral ties, according to the ministry.

"The fundamentals of bilateral trade have remained solid and strong. In 2025, China-Russia trade volume reached 227.9 billion U.S. dollars, marking the third consecutive year it topped the 200 billion-dollar threshold. China has maintained its position as Russia's largest trading partner for 16 years in a row. In the first quarter of this year, bilateral trade totaled 61.2 billion U.S. dollars, up 14.7 percent year on year," Ma said.

According to Ma, the share of electromechanical and high-tech products in bilateral trade continues to rise.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation.

Germany's exports to the United States fell sharply in March, dropping 7.9 percent month on month and 21.4 percent year on year, according to figures released by the Federal Statistical Office of Germany on Friday.

Data also showed that Germany's industrial output decreased by 0.7 percent month on month in March.

Industry representatives said that U.S. tariff policies are increasingly straining trade relations between the two countries, and that turmoil in the Middle East is further dimming the outlook for Germany's industrial recovery.
