China's exports of new energy products in the first quarter of this year showed a trend of large-scale, diversification and high growth, covering multiple fields such as new energy vehicles, wind power, and energy storage, according to data released on Saturday by the General Administration of Customs.
According to the data, China's total import and export value of goods reached 16.23 trillion yuan in the first four months of this year, up 14.9 percent year on year, maintaining a good trend of growth.
Leveraging its geographical advantages, Yangzhou City in east China's Jiangsu Province, located at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, has built a complete industrial chain from wind turbine blades and towers to complete turbines.
The complete industrial chain and logistics cost advantages have further led to the gathering of enterprises in the city. Currently, there are more than 10 wind power production companies in Yangzhou, including leading companies that rank fifth in the world in terms of smart wind turbine shipments, and high-tech companies that cooperate with leading global wind power equipment manufacturers to solve transportation and hoisting problems.
In the first quarter of this year, Yangzhou Customs supervised the export of 880,000 cubic meters of wind power equipment, an increase of over 36 percent year on year, making Yangzhou Port an important hub for wind power equipment exports in the Yangtze River Delta region.
"With strong growth in wind power equipment exports, we consistently prioritize optimizing service efficiency as the core of supporting foreign trade development. We provide precise support for enterprises going global by offering integrated legal, financial, and tax services through our one-stop overseas service center. At the same time, for the export of high-precision and specialized products, we provide one-stop customs clearance and inspection services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, enabling enterprises to accelerate their global expansion," said Peng Peilun, deputy director of the Bureau of Commerce of Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone.
According to customs statistics, in the first four months of this year, China's exports of electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and wind turbines increased by 68.1 percent, 43.2 percent, and 40.7 percent respectively, while the exports of industrial robots increased by 30 percent.
"China continues to deepen international division of labor and cooperation, expand trade in intermediate goods, and develop green trade, contributing Chinese solutions to global industrial upgrading and green development. In the first four months, China's exports of intermediate goods increased by nearly 20 percent, maintaining the main driver of export growth, while exports of green and low-carbon products also showed a relatively high growth rate," said Lyu Daliang, director of the statistics and analysis department of the General Administration of Customs.
