China will continue playing a positive role in promoting peace talks regarding the current situation in Iran, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday.
Guo made the remarks in response to a question regarding the current situation in Iran.
"China’s position on the Iran situation is consistent. We will continue playing a positive role in promoting peace talks and bringing about an end to the conflict," Guo said.

Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Beijing on Monday afternoon to begin a four-day state visit to China.

Rahmon is a frequent visitor to China, with this marking his 23rd trip to the country. His most recent visit was in late August and early September 2025, when he attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
