The ongoing five-day 10th China-Russia Expo has brought together businesses and officials from both countries to comprehensively deepen practical cooperation across a wide range of sectors under the theme of "Trust, Cooperation and Mutual Benefit."

Opening on Sunday, this year's expo showcases the two countries' competitive industries, high-quality products and cutting-edge achievements, with a focus on innovation, interactivity and diversity. The expo has attracted more than 1,500 enterprises from 46 countries and regions, with a total exhibition area of 55,000 square meters.

Nearly 300 Russian enterprises are participating in the event, as the procurement group is expected to exceed 5,000 people.

Since its launch in 2014, the expo has evolved into the highest-level, largest, and most influential institutional platform for economic and trade cooperation between China and Russia covering such areas as the digital economy, green and low-carbon energy, cross-border e-commerce and biomedicine. More than 7,200 Chinese and Russian enterprises and 1.05 million business visitors have attended the expo since its inception. According to organizers, the cumulative transaction volume of the China-Russia Expo has exceeded 300 billion yuan (about 43.9 billion U.S. dollars).

"We will take advantage of the two major milestones -- mainly the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation -- to debut a series of new business forms, projects and technologies, so as to fully demonstrate the vitality of China-Russia bilateral cooperation," said Chen Shijun, president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Heilongjiang Committee.

"We will further solidify economic and trade alignment, strengthen industrial synergy, and deepen cultural exchanges between the two countries. We will continuously build a targeted and efficient cooperation platform, unclog the channels for bilateral exchanges at the sub-regional level, promote in-depth integration of cross-border industrial and supply chains, and promote on a full scale quality improvement and capacity enlargement of trade and investment," he said.

According to China's Ministry of Commerce, trade between China and Russia reached approximately 228 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, exceeding the 200-billion-dollar threshold for the third consecutive year. China has remained Russia's largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years.

CEO of Mastercard Michael Miebach, who was part of the U.S. business delegation that accompanied President Donald Trump during his just-concluded state visit to China, has hailed China's commitment to advancing global connectivity and delivering win-win results.

Trump on Friday wrapped up his three-day visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, marking the first visit by a U.S. president to China in almost nine years since President Xi hosted Trump in the Chinese capital in November 2017.

In an exclusive interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN), Miebach shared his views on how China’s continual push for global connectivity resonates positively with people in the United States and beyond.

Mastercard's Chinese joint venture announced the official commencement of its bank card clearing operations in May 2024, issuing Mastercard-branded cards with its member institutions for domestic and international use.

Over the past two years, Miebach said, the company has rolled out more than 200 products and programs tailored to the Chinese market, greatly enhancing convenience for users.

"Before our license was bifurcated, largely, that you either have a card that does something over here and have a local solution. So now you have ultimate choice, ultimate convenience and safety, security, predictable experience everywhere you go. If you're a person that travels a lot or a businessperson, for example, then some business trips really matter. So, it's a pretty unique proposition," the CEO said.

He also recognized China's unfaltering commitment to cooperation and willingness to work with others, saying that these principles make true mutual benefit possible.

"The priority of the Chinese government is strengthening the service sector. It is driving consumption. It is international connectivity. So that point, I just illustrated, it's very firmly on the last one. So, I think we're very well aligned with this joint venture coming together between our Chinese partners, ourselves, and our customers here to really drive what the government is trying to do. It makes a lot of sense for us. It's a true win-win," he said.
