China's position and policy on the Korean Peninsula issue have remained consistent and stable, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said Thursday.

Spokesman Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a regular news briefing in Beijing in response to a media query concerning denuclearization of the peninsula.

"China's position and policy on the Korean Peninsula issue have remained consistent and stable, and China will play a constructive role in promoting the political settlement of the Korean Peninsula issue in its own way," said Guo.
