A camera captured an embarrassing yet endearing moment as keepers cleaned up the mess left by a bed-wetting giant panda cub at the Sunshine Delivery House of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The archive footage showed a panda cub suddenly peed without any warning. Two keepers instantly sprang into action with perfect coordination. One gently wiped the cub clean while the other quickly mopped up the mess on the ground. The little cub sat there looking totally innocent and adorable the whole time, as if it had no idea it had just caused a little "accident."
Qi Yi was born in 2016 at the Chengdu base to mother Qi Yuan. The video was filmed when it was just over three months old.
The Chengdu base is a world-renowned facility for ex situ conservation, scientific research and breeding, public education, and eco-tourism. It is globally recognized for protecting and breeding endangered Chinese wildlife species, including giant and red pandas.
