"AI large model conversations," "generative AI demos," and "AI agent applications" are stealing the spotlight at the ongoing World Intelligence Expo 2026, which kicked off Thursday in north China's Tianjin Municipality.
Co-hosted by the municipal governments of Tianjin and Chongqing, the four-day expo is themed "Intelligence: Extensive Development Space, Sustainable Growth Driver", It features seven exhibition zones covering embodied AI, core AI technologies, low-altitude economy and commercial space exploration, with the total exhibition area reaching 130,000 square meters.
More than 40 large AI models — covering language, vision, and basic sciences — are on display at the expo, with applications spanning search engines, intelligent agents, and fundamental sciences. Unlike previous years, this year's expo marks a real shift: large models are no longer just demonstrating capabilities — they are moving into practical industrial use.
At the AI large model zone, a big data model for car engine maintenance uses AI and big data to predict and diagnose faults without taking the engine apart, helping to boost repair efficiency.
"The large model pinpoints the most likely trouble spot and tells our staff exactly what to check. That saves a lot of time and labor," said Zuo Xinyu, an exhibitor.
Powerful computing is essential for intelligent algorithms. At this year's expo, a large-scale AI computing infrastructure solution — built for trillion-parameter models and scientific AI — has grabbed the spotlight. It supports a wide range of applications, from large model training and financial risk control to geological energy exploration and scientific AI.
The expo runs through Sunday. During the event, more than 200 new products, technologies, achievements and research reports will be released, covering embodied AI, intelligent connected vehicles, low-altitude economy, smart manufacturing and smart living.
