China is willing to work with Brazil to promote high-quality development of agricultural product trade, Ministry of Commerce spokeswoman He Yongqian said at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.

At the invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Mauro Vieira paid an official visit to China from May 31 to June 2.

"Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with the visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Mauro Vieira on June 1. The two sides exchanged views on China-Brazil economic and trade relations and cooperation within multilateral frameworks. Brazil is China's No. 1 source of soybean and beef imports. This year, China's imports of soybean and beef from Brazil have both shown a rapid growth. China is willing to maintain communication with Brazil on relevant issues, and jointly promote the high-quality development of bilateral agricultural product trade," said the spokeswoman.
