The China Development Bank issued 440.6 billion yuan (about 65 billion U.S. dollars) in loans in the first four months of 2026 to enhance support for digital, internet-based and smart development of infrastructure, the bank has said.

Since the start of this year, the bank has been comprehensively supporting infrastructure construction in fields such as transportation, logistics, energy and sci-tech, improving financial services for full life-cycle of infrastructure, and helping expand effective investment, it said.

The China Development Bank has provided 410 million yuan of special loans to a large intelligent logistics park in Lanzhou, capital city of northwest China's Gansu Province.

Construction of the project with a total investment of 560 million yuan is nearing completion.

The smart warehouse in the park for supplies of daily necessities is equipped with robots. The handling capacity within one hour is nearly three times that of a traditional warehouse.

"‌The smart warehouse sorts and delivers foods on the same day, and it takes no more than 48 hours for the foods to reach people's dining tables from locations where they were produced," said Li Yanbao, a manager of the intelligent logistics park.

In addition to daily logistics services, the park also has a special positioning of "dual-use for both normal and emergency situations".

"Upon full operation, the park is able to meet emergency supply needs of more than 3 million people in the main urban area of Lanzhou. Serving as a logistics center during normal times, it can become an emergency reserve depot for the city's supplies of vegetables and staple food," said Deng Jin, deputy general manager of the park.

"We closely followed the planning of the project and set up a special team to meet the demand. At present, 410 million yuan of special loans have been issued, providing a solid financial guarantee for the smooth progress of the project as scheduled," said Zhou Qian, employee with the Gansu branch of China Development Bank.
