China launches 8 satellites into orbit

China on Monday launched a Lijian-1 Y14 carrier rocket with eight satellites onboard.

The rocket blasted off at 11:44 a.m. (Beijing Time) from a commercial space innovation pilot zone in northwest China and successfully sent the satellites into the planned orbit.

The mission marked the 14th flight of the Lijian-1 carrier rocket.

European stocks closed higher across the board on Tuesday.

The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index rose 0.61 percent to 10,494.21 points. France's CAC 40 index gained 0.75 percent to finish at 8,447.27 points. Germany's DAX index advanced 0.07 percent to end the session at 24,910.41 points.
