After a spell of rain subsided on Sunday, Shennongjia in central China's Hubei Province unveiled a breathtaking natural spectacle of lush green mountains and drifting sea of clouds.
From the Shennong Peak, a must-visit of the Shennongjia scenic spot, endless layers of clouds surged and swirled around the undulating mountain ranges. Bathed in fresh rain, the verdant vegetation stood out in sharp, bright contrast, painting a serene yet majestic summer landscape.
Drone footage captured an even more dramatic view at the Dajiu Lake, a high-altitude wetland in Shennongjia. Thick blankets of clouds spilled over the mountain ridges like a roaring waterfall, rolling downward and spreading across the valley.
Shennongjia receives abundant rainfall in summer, and seas of clouds often appear once the rain stops. While, a sea of clouds of such massive scale and strong cascading motion are rare, and are considered highly spectacular for viewing.
