China's summer wheat harvest has exceeded 90 percent completion in major producing areas as of Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Over 20 million hectares of wheat had been harvested across the country as of 17:00 on Tuesday, with the harvest progress reaching 91.44 percent, according to the ministry.

Among the major producing areas, Shandong has completed more than 90 percent of its harvest, Hebei and Shaanxi are nearing 90 percent, and Shanxi has surpassed 80 percent.

Overall, this year's summer grain area has remained stable, with per-unit yield expected to increase, said the ministry, adding that a bumper harvest is already assured.

To support this year's summer planting, harvesting and field management, over 17 million agricultural machines have been deployed nationwide.

Meanwhile, more than 3,100 service stations have been set up in wheat-producing areas to assist cross-regional harvesters, and over 5,500 green channels have been opened on highways for agricultural machinery.
