Iran on Tuesday issued a stern warning to Israel, threatening a forceful military response if Israeli forces persist with strikes in southern Lebanon. Iran's main military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, issued a statement saying that since the United States and Iran reached a memorandum of understanding, Israeli troops have violated the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon for 84 times. It warned Israel to expect a harsh response if it does not halt its acts of aggression and provocation in southern Lebanon.

The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 3.21 percent higher at 2,224.7 points on Wednesday.

The STAR 50 Index, which tracks the 50 largest stocks listed on the board that also meet certain liquidity requirements, closed 4.69 percent higher at 1,840.82 points.

The sci-tech innovation board, commonly known as the STAR Market, was inaugurated in June 2019 at Shanghai Stock Exchange. It is designed to support companies in the high-tech and strategic emerging sectors.
