China’s International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) will highlight resilience and innovation in global supply chains, as stable networks remain vital for economic growth amid technological transformation, said an official with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

Lin Honghong, vice chairman of the CCPIT, told China Global Television Network (CGTN) the event is designed to showcase digital innovation and provide a platform for cooperation to strengthen supply chain resilience.

She noted that as the world economy moves toward digital, green and smart development, the resilience and success of supply chains and businesses depend on mutually beneficial cooperation.

"Despite some shocks in recent years, the underlying trend has not changed and the resilience of industry and supply chains remains strong. On one hand, a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating, and the world economy is rapidly growing digital, green and smart. This provides a powerful engine for upgrading global supply chains. On the other hand, companies across the world increasingly recognize that economies are deeply intertwined. No business can survive and succeed without mutually beneficial cooperation," said Lin.

Lin also highlighted that the 4th CISCE, set against the backdrop of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, features record-breaking international participation and a focus on digital innovation, with its core mission being to foster win-win cooperation and build a resilient global supply chain for a shared future.

"Indeed, the beginning of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period, this is the defining context for the 4th CISCE. We are seeing a great leap forward in international lineup: a total of 676 Chinese and foreign enterprises and institutions will be showcasing alongside their supply chain partners, which means over 1,200 companies and institutions will actually join the show. International participation has grown with every edition, and the share of overseas exhibitors hits new records every year. This year also marks the true inaugural year of the digital and intelligent CISCE. With upgraded digital technology chains incorporating more intelligence elements, and a dedicated zone created for AI, the CISCE Launchpad will release over 160 new products, technologies, services and scenarios," said Lin.

"Our core philosophy has always been to foster synergy within and across supply chains, with the empowerment of innovation and for the goal of win win. It is our hope that all parties can use the CISC platform to expand supply chain network and deepen industrial cooperation. And our goal is never to go fast alone, but to go far together for a bright future with all the partners," she added.

The 4th CISCE will run from June 22 to 26 in Beijing, with 676 supply chain enterprises, specialized firms and industry institutions from 85 countries, regions and international organizations confirmed to participate.

A 28-member press delegation from 19 countries, joined by Chinese state media, has embarked on a week-long tour in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, gaining first-hand insight into a region that also serves as a core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

The journey began Friday in Turpan. The first stop was a massive "photovoltaic plus solar-thermal" hybrid project featuring over 20,000 heliostat mirrors, a breathtaking sight that drew admiration from the visitors.

"Obviously, solar energy is used all over the world, but in the way I've seen it here and it was explained to me here, I haven't seen it before, especially since apparently like two different techniques are being combined to produce green energy for China. It's cool," said Stefan Zanev, freelancer for Bavarian Broadcasting.

The delegation also stopped at a Uygur hospital's sand-therapy center, where reporters sampled herbal teas and experienced heated sand treatments.

In the coming days, the group will travel to Hotan and Urumqi to observe the daily lives and work of local communities.
