China will continue to deeply engage in global trade and investment cooperation to promote the connectivity and integration between Chinese market and the rest of the world, said Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Wednesday.

Li attended a symposium at the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos, in northeast China's coastal city of Dalian, exchanging ideas with representatives of the business community.

After hearing the remarks from representatives, Li noted that opening up and cooperation are an irreversible trend of the times and an inherent need for all countries to expand their development space.

Noting that China's high-quality exports make a significant contribution to the global economy, Li emphasized that China has never deliberately pursued a trade surplus and is willing to work with all parties to promote the balanced development of trade.

Li stressed that China's industrial competitiveness is not built on subsidies, but stems from its comprehensive advantages. He expressed the hope that entrepreneurs attending the symposium will convey more rational voices to the international community.

Over the past years, China's economy has achieved innovation-driven and high-quality development, Li said, adding that the upgrading and reviving of Chinese market, Chinese manufacturing sector and infrastructure are providing more new opportunities for enterprises from around the world.

The Chinese government will do its utmost to provide services for enterprises from other countries, create a more open, fair and friendly business environment, fully ensure the national treatment for foreign-funded enterprises, and enable them to operate in China comfortably for excellent results, Li said.

Some 150 business representatives from more than 30 countries and regions attended the symposium.

Representatives at the symposium said that amid the global economic uncertainties, China, as a reliable long-term partner, is playing a leading role in future global economic development.

The business representatives are optimistic about China's development prospects, and remained committed to take root in China, grow together with China's economy, and contribute to promoting global economic growth.

A promotion conference for the 19th Europe-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair was held on the sidelines of the 2026 China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing on Wednesday, with the first batch of cooperation partners signing up for participation in the event.

Three institutions and enterprises inked agreements with the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), becoming the first batch of partners of the fair. They will respectively hold special events featuring commercial legal services, vocational education, and cutting-edge technological innovation cooperation during the fair.

"To provide more professional services for enterprises, we need to jointly build the platform of the fair with professional partners," said Dong Ruilin from the exhibition department of the CCOIC.

The 19th Europe-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair is scheduled to be held in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, from October 21 to 23.

The fair will focus on key areas such as biomedicine, new energy, agricultural food, artificial intelligence, cutting-edge technologies, vocational education and commercial legal services, together with the organization of high-level dialogues, industrial matchmaking events and park visits.

"We have received preliminary confirmation of participation from some delegations in the Navarre region of Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The invitations are still underway. It is expected that the scale of participation from the European side this year will exceed that of last year," Dong said.

The 2026 CISCE runs in Beijing from June 22 to 26.
