The yield on the latest issue of 10-year Japanese government bond (JGB), the benchmark long-term interest rate in the country, has reached a new high in nearly 30 years.
The yield on 30-year JGB climbed to 2.81 percent, marking the highest level since October 1996.
Local media held that the yields were driven up by the factors of the situation in the Middle East and the fiscal policies of the Japanese government.
