A parent Chinese penduline tit was recently spotted feeding its chick inside a nest in a woodland area of Datong City, in north China's Shanxi Province, after returning from a foraging trip.
The adult briefly entered the hanging nest to tend to its young before departing again..
Dubbed "master weavers" of the avian world, Chinese penduline tits are known for their distinctive hanging, pouch-shaped nests, woven from plant fibers and willow catkins. Each nest has a single small side opening, which serves as the only hole for entrance and exit.
