China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will jointly hold commemorative events to mark the 65th anniversary of the China-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday.

"Yesterday we released the news on the visit by Pak Thae Song, premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, to China. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the China-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. China and the DPRK agreed to jointly hold commemorative events. As to the specific arrangements for these events, we will release relevant information in a timely manner," said Mao.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend a document signing ceremony with Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday.

Nandi-Ndaitwah is on a state visit to China from July 5 to 11 at the invitation of Xi.
