China is willing to share experiences with all to elevate the level of artificial intelligence (AI) innovation worldwide, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Thursday. Lin made the remarks in response to a media query on the upcoming 2026 World AI Conference (WAIC) and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance which will be held in Shanghai from Friday to Monday.

"The development of AI bears on the well-being of all humanity. All parties should work to narrow the digital and smart technology gap, hold on to the bottom line of security, improve global governance, and jointly develop AI as an open and inclusive technology for good and for all. China opposes drawing lines along ideological difference and conducting technological blockade. China stays committed to coordinating both development and security and is ready to share experiences with all to elevate the level of AI innovation worldwide," Lin said.

"Tomorrow, the 2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance will kick off in Shanghai. China will use the occasion to have candid exchanges with all parties, build consensus and ensure that developing countries have greater access to the dividend of the intelligence age and that technological advancement can truly lead to progress and prosperity of human society," he said.

Adorable giant pandas were caught on camera eating skewers, a funny way to let them enjoy some of their favorite food, at a Chengdu-based section of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The bite-sized pieces of food were strung onto thin bamboo skewers. In some cases, they were hung from the trees so that the giant pandas can do more physical exercise while having their meals.

The CCRCGP is a world-leading institution dedicated to the breeding and conservation of one of China's national treasures, the giant panda. The center has established a global platform for promoting international cooperation and exchanges involving 18 zoos from 16 countries and regions, 39 domestic animal breeding institutions, and over 10 scientific research institutes.
