Russia said on Friday that its forces had launched multiple strikes on Ukrainian targets over the past week, while Ukraine reported long-range deep strikes against Russian strategic bombers and energy facilities.
Russia's Defense Ministry said in its latest report that its forces carried out 19 group strikes over the past week using air- and ground-based high-precision long-range weapons and attack drones. The targets included port infrastructure in multiple Ukrainian cities and dozens of maritime vessels used for Ukrainian military purposes.
Russian forces also struck Ukrainian defense industry enterprises, ammunition depots, logistics centers, and fuel and transport infrastructure, as well as drone manufacturing sites and temporary deployment points for Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries, according to the report.
Russian air defense systems shot down 68 guided aerial bombs, seven U.S.-made HIMARS rockets, two long-range cruise missiles, and 4,661 fixed-wing drones in the past week, the ministry added.
On the same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian forces continued to repel Russian attacks on multiple fronts and shot down 1,879 drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday that Ukrainian forces had launched multiple long-range strikes recently. He noted that Ukraine's Security Service destroyed a Tu-95 strategic bomber at the Engels airbase in Russia's Saratov region, about 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The Security Service said the bomber sustained severe damage, with its tail section completely torn off.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces struck multiple oil and energy facilities across Russia, as well as designated military targets in Russian-controlled areas. Zelensky stressed that Ukraine would continue to conduct deep strike operations.
