A Chinese embodied AI company showcased its robots at a partner conference on Friday in Melbourne, Australia, impressing local industry insiders with robots designed for diverse scenarios and capable of nimble movements.
The robots put on dance shows, performed tai chi, and even cleaned the floor, while some participants even rode on the backs of quadrupeds. Beyond the novelty, however, the company touts that its robots can assist a wide array of industrial and professional sectors, including mining, commercial cleaning, facility management, research and education, and cultural entertainment.
Several local partners in Australia spoke highly of the rapid advancements in China's robotics technology, as well as the country's contributions to the AI industry.
"China is clearly a world leader on artificial intelligence (AI). Investing a lot in this area made it a national priority and really driving this forward for the world," said David Pearce, founder and CEO of Our Robot Future, an independent advisory and consulting practice exploring potentials and possible applications of humanoid robots.
"Right at the top, I think you see incredible models coming out, that we've seen, like DeepSeek and things like that have shocked the industry, I think. So, China is making a huge contribution to that area. It's great to see," said Adrian Tyson, founder and CEO of Neuranext AI, an Australian firm providing education experiences in AI, robotics, and computers.
According to a company representative, the Chinese firm will work with local partners to promote its products, localized solutions and Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) model in Australia and New Zealand, while providing training, technical certification and marketing support.
