China's export of high-tech products went up 39 percent in the first half of this year, said Sun Meijun, head of General Administration of Customs, at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
Sun said that China's total goods trade and the import and export of goods all registered double-digit growth in the first half of this year, with the export products precisely meeting the demand of international markets.
Boosted by expanded domestic demand, China's import posted faster growth in the first half of this year, with a growth rate 8.7 percentage points higher than that of export.
"The export of high-tech products increased by 39 percent. The export of electric vehicles climbed 68.7 percent and the export of integrated circuit jumped 88.7 percent. Cutting-edge technologies, including high-end intelligent products and green and low-carbon products, have become new hallmarks and valuable name cards for 'Made-in-China' exports," said Sun.
In the first six months, China also saw an increase of 115,000 enterprises that had records of importing and exporting goods, said Sun.
The country witnessed thriving growth of new business forms and models in the foreign trade sector, Sun said.
The overseas warehouse for export goods of China's cross-border e-commerce sector surged 3.3 times, and 140 million consumers shopped via cross-border e-commerce, said Sun.

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities' stubborn adherence to the separatist stance on Taiwan region will only meet with failure in the international community as they go against the tide of history, a spokeswoman for China's central government said on Wednesday.
The remarks came after Papua New Guinea announced the closure of a Taiwan-related representative office in the country and Cambodia expressed support for the one-China principle.
"We highly appreciate the Papua New Guinea government's relevant move. Facts have proven time and again that the one-China principle is a basic norm of international relations and a prevailing consensus of the international community. Upholding the one-China principle is where justice and the general trend lie. A just cause enjoys abundant support while an unjust one finds little. The DPP authorities' stubborn adherence to the separatist stance on Taiwan region and their actions against the trend of history will only meet with failure in the international community," said Zhang Han, a spokeswoman of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office at a press briefing in Beijing.
Following Cambodia's reaffirmation of its support for the one-China principle, Taiwan's authorities canceled a so-called visa facilitation measure for Cambodia. In response, Cambodia reaffirmed its long-standing position that the Taiwan region is a province of China and that its adherence to the one-China principle remains firm.
"The Cambodian government's firm stance is in line with the historical trend and the will of its people. The DPP authorities' attempt to coerce relevant countries into creating space for Taiwan separatism is overambitious and miscalculated. Their despicable tricks are doomed to fail," Zhang said.
