Iran warns Israel of "severe consequences" if fighting resumes

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Sunday warned Israel that it will face severe consequences if it reignites the war, while vowing retaliation against any nation that supports U.S. military action against Iran. IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi stressed that any country joining the United States in its ongoing conflict with Iran, including the United Kingdom and Gulf states, would be considered a "legitimate target" for Iranian retaliation.

Claiming that U.S. B-1 strategic bombers have recently launched missions from a British airbase, Mohebbi warned that Britain would become a "definite and legitimate target" if it continues to back U.S. moves against Iran. He added that Iranian forces have "specific contingency plans" for every possible scenario.

The spokesman also accused Israel of peddling false information to U.S. President Donald Trump in a bid to keep American forces in the region and serve its own strategic ends.

Israel knows very well what consequences it will face if it chooses to return to the battlefield and becomes Iran's primary target, Mohebbi said.

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday that it has stopped six vessels seeking to cross the Strait of Hormuz within the past 24 hours.

These vessels were forced to anchor and follow relevant instructions from the Iranian side after receiving warnings from the IRGC. IRGC Navy controls about 240,000 square kilometers of waters in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz through uninterrupted patrols and surveillance.

The IRGC stated that any vessel failing to accept or abide by Iran's orders and regulations will be barred from passing through the Strait of Hormuz. It also noted that the U.S. military attempted to alter the vessels' course, but the ships were forced to turn back after receiving warning shots from the Iranian side.
