Iranian armed forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi said on Sunday that Iran has fully prepared for any potential airstrikes or ground military operations, according to media reports.
The media reports, quoting Iranian state TV, said Shekarchi noted that the United States is facing a chaotic situation unfavorable to it, and the U.S. efforts both in the Strait of Hormuz and in attempts to weaken Iran have failed to achieve their intended objectives.
Shekarchi said the U.S. is now looking for a new strategy and people should not rule out the possibility that the U.S. could withdraw from the war, though he added such a move would depend on whether Israel agrees.
According to a statement issued by the prime minister's office on Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will depart on July 27 and meet U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on July 28.
The meeting will mark the first face-to-face talks between Trump and Netanyahu since the outbreak of the conflict in Iran on February 28. Shekarchi said with Netanyahu's visit to the United States in sight, Iran may face renewed airstrikes or a ground military action. But in case of a ground war, Shekarchi said, the United States would be more vulnerable, as Iran has made full preparations for any developments that may occur.
Also on Sunday, Iranian media reported that the country's army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia noted Iran sees no clear U.S. strategy and that the U.S. options could include withdrawing, launching large-scale airstrikes under Israeli pressure, or initiating ground action.
He said Iran would watch for the next U.S. move and has prepared for all possibilities.
Akraminia emphasized that the geographic theater of the war has already expanded to the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, with Iranian operations now covering U.S. targets stretching from Jordan to the Persian Gulf coast. He warned that if the U.S. continues its aggression, this scope will expand further, resulting in severe consequences.
