U.S. and Ukrainian officials are discussing an air truce proposal that they plan to present to Russia, according to sources from Ukraine on Sunday.
They intend to submit the proposal to Russia within the framework of a new round of peace initiative.
Previously, Ukraine had put forward a similar ceasefire initiative to Russia, but was rejected by the Russian side.

Israeli forces launched air strikes on multiple locations in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, killing six Palestinians and injuring more than 20, according to Palestinian health authorities.
Abdul Nasser Mohammed al-Maqadma, 54, police chief of northern Gaza under Hamas-run interior authorities, was killed when an Israeli drone struck his vehicle in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, according to local authorities and sources.
Gaza-based health authorities said Saturday that the death toll since a ceasefire took effect in October 2025 has reached 1,191, with 3,853 injured.
The overall death toll since Oct. 7, 2023 has reached 73,317, with 173,961 injured, they added.
