A tanker reported hearing two explosions while transiting in the Strait of Hormuz, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Centre announced on Thursday.
According to the announcement, the incident happened nine nautical miles (16.7 kilometers) southeast of Kumzar, Oman. UKMTO received the report from the master of the tanker by 19:18 (UTC) on Wednesday, confirming that the crew and the vessel were both safe.

The Qingdao Port in east China's Shandong Province opened a new container shipping route to Australia on Wednesday, reducing transit time to just 15 days.
It is the port's 16th newly launched container route so far this year.
The Qingdao Port now operates nearly 240 shipping routes, ranking the first among northern China's ports by route count. It has continuously expanded its international logistics network to connect over 700 ports in more than 180 other countries and regions worldwide.
