A rope-skipping team from Changji University in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has received a certificate of authenticity from Guinness World Records for achieving the most rope crossovers (criss-cross) while jumping long rope simultaneously in one minute, with an astonishing 111 successful crossings.
The official challenge video was recorded on Jan 3, 2026. Strictly following the video submission requirements, the trio performed 111 clean, effective crossover jumps with zero mistakes.
After a lengthy review, the Guinness World Records headquarters completed all verifications on July 16, and formally recognized the achievement as a new world record.
The award is given to a teacher named Chen Bingjie, and two students, Li Wenjun and Heran Shayiran.
"This event is extremely challenging. It requires all three members to be highly synchronized. Even the slightest mismatch in rhythm can cause a mistake. From the initial formation of the team to the official challenge, we constantly refined every detail of our coordination," said Chen Bingjie, a faculty member at the university's School of Physical Education and Health.
Since October of last year, Chen had been practicing with his students for two to three hours daily.
"As a student from Xinjiang, I am truly proud to have taken part in this Guinness World Record challenge. Rope skipping not only builds physical fitness but also teaches us the value of teamwork. We will continue training and aim for even better results in the future," said Heran Shayiran, one of the student participants.
