The Xiong'an Artificial Intelligence Practical Training Base officially began operations on Thursday, with the first AI training class held in the new area.

Located in the Science Park in Xiong'an New Area in north China's Hebei Province, the base focuses on AI-plus-IT practical training programs. Working alongside industry leaders, it aims to build a full-chain system of certifications, competitions, and training that spans the business, industrial, and national levels, offering talent development programs ranging from foundational skills to high-end research capabilities.

Established on April 1, 2017, Xiong'an New Area is a flagship project aimed at relieving Beijing of functions non-essential to its role as the national capital and advancing the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Nine years on, Xiong'an New Area has evolved into a national hub for innovation and smart technologies, with artificial intelligence placed at the top of its development agenda.
