A 115,000-DWT oil tanker, independently developed and built by China, was officially delivered to its buyer on Friday, according to China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited.
Measuring about 249.8 meters in length and 44 meters in width, the vessel has a carrying capacity of about 830,000 barrels of refined oil products per voyage. Its strong port adaptability allows it to berth at most major oil ports worldwide, enhancing its role in trunk-line transportation within the international energy trade.
The tanker features domestically produced core equipment, including its engine, combined with high-efficiency propellers and energy-saving devices that significantly reduce fuel consumption during navigation.
Additionally, it is equipped with advanced desulfurization and denitrification systems, enabling substantial reductions in emissions of oxysulfide, oxynitride, and carbon dioxide, in compliance with the latest International Maritime Organization environmental standards. The vessel’s deadweight capacity, speed, and fuel efficiency meet cutting-edge international benchmarks.
Recent data shows that global tanker orders have surged in 2026, with Chinese shipyards securing over 80 percent of new tanker orders. Domestic shipyards are currently operating at full capacity, having achieved standardized mass production, with production schedules extending through 2030.
