As the 48th WorldSkills Competition enters its one-month countdown, various skills experience and fun competition activities are being held throughout Shanghai to draw public parcitipation.

The WorldSkills Competition is the world's most prestigious, largest, and most influential vocational skills competition. It represents the world's advanced level of vocational skills development and serves as an important platform for WorldSkills members to showcase and exchange their skills.

The 48th session of the event is scheduled to be held in Shanghai from Sept 22 to 27, with event organization, venue operation, and service reception all entering their final preparation stage.

At the Shanghai WorldSkills Museum, a newly launched "mini competition" project centered around the WorldSkills Competition caught the eyeballs of many citizens.

Smart security technology is a project newly introduced to the WorldSkills Competition this year. At the experience event, children learn about the role of smart security in daily life through simulation operations.

"This smart security project involves the installation, debugging, and programming of various artificial intelligence devices. Its main purpose is to demonstrate the application of artificial intelligence in the security system," said Xiong Lei, a teacher from the Shanghai Electronic Information Vocational and Technical College.

From information and communication technology to drone obstacle courses, from Chinese dough figurines to painting and decoration, the various experience projects present both new skills for future industries and traditional crafts that are close to daily life.

"We try to re-shape some professional competitions into fun events close to daily life, creating projects that everyone can experience," said Pan Yu, deputy curator of the WorldSkills Museum.
