Chinese president Xi to attend SCO summit, pay state visits to Kyrgyzstan, Egypt

From August 30 to September 3, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2026 in Bishkek, and pay state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt upon the invitation of President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index market ended higher Wednesday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index up 0.56 percent to close at 25,652.97 points.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 1.05 percent to end at 8,533.84 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 0.82 percent to end at 4,626.15 points.
