Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index market ended higher Wednesday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index up 0.56 percent to close at 25,652.97 points.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 1.05 percent to end at 8,533.84 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 0.82 percent to end at 4,626.15 points.

The attempts by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities in Taiwan to seek secession by force will not stop the trend of national reunification but hasten their demise, said Zhang Han, spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
Zhang's statement came in response to reports that Lai Ching-te, leader of China's Taiwan region, rehashed the "new two states theory" and clamored for efforts to seek secession by force during a recent event.
"Lai Ching-te stubbornly clings to the separatist position for Taiwan secession, constantly promotes the related fallacies and heresies, deliberately distorts history, slaves away to hype up the so-called 'China threat,' constantly instigates hostility against the mainland, and seeks to resist reunification and achieve secession by force, pushing Taiwan toward the danger of military conflict step by step. He is in every sense a saboteur of peace and maker of crises across the Taiwan Strait," Zhang said.
"We would like to make it clear to Lai Ching-te and the DPP authorities that the trend of reunification is unstoppable, and their attempts to seek secession by force will only hasten their demise. We hope our compatriots in Taiwan will recognize the deceptive and harmful nature of Lai Ching-te's separatist provocations, join us in resolutely opposing secession, and take concrete actions to safeguard their own security and well-being as well as peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait," she said.
