The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 1.90 percent higher at 1,979.75 points on Monday.
The STAR 50 Index, which tracks the 50 largest stocks listed on the board that also meet certain liquidity requirements, closed 1.34 percent higher at 1,684.39 points.
The sci-tech innovation board, commonly known as the STAR Market, was inaugurated in June 2019 at Shanghai Stock Exchange. It is designed to support companies in the high-tech and strategic emerging sectors.
China's STAR Composite Index closes higher Monday
Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.86 percent to 3,986.30 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.44 percent higher at 14,015.00 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by these two indices stood at around 2.13 trillion yuan (about 314 billion U.S. dollars), up from 2.1 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the sectors of short drama and film production, liquid-cooled servers, consumer electronics, and computing power leasing led the gains, while precious metals, photovoltaic equipment, innovative pharmaceuticals, and agriculture sectors were among the top losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.42 percent to close at 3,438.68 points Monday.
