A Chinese Foreign ministry spokesman on Monday refuted the inappropriate remarks made recently by foreign media regarding the cause of a mudslide which occurred on the China-Nepal border on Wednesday morning.
Speaking at a daily press briefing in Beijing, spokesman Guo Jiakun said "We've noticed that experts and official institutions from both China and Nepal have studied and made assessments of the cause behind the disaster. According to their analysis, it was triggered by high-altitude glacial collapse in Nepal. In the face of such a devastating disaster, we firmly oppose such malicious speculations that lack factual basis."
