The trade volume between China and Egypt reached 13.75 billion U.S. dollars in the first seven months of this year, up 23.2 percent year on year, the Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt, and bilateral economic and trade ties continue to grow stronger.
China has been Egypt's largest trading partner for 14 consecutive years. In 2025, bilateral trade reached 20.79 billion U.S. dollars, setting a new record high.
Driven by policy measures such as zero-tariff policy for African countries which have established diplomatic relations with China, exports of high-quality Egyptian specialty products such as fresh oranges and flax to China have grown rapidly and are showing strong momentum.
Meanwhile, investment cooperation between the two countries continues to deepen.
In 2025, China's new direct investment in Egypt reached 284 million U.S. dollars, more than doubling from the previous year.
The China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone is home to over 200 enterprises, providing more than 10,000 direct jobs.
Cooperation in the infrastructure sector has also yielded remarkable results.
The two sides have jointly constructed a number of key projects, effectively upgrading Egypt's infrastructure, facilitating transportation for the Egyptian people, ensuring a stable power supply for industry and daily life, and bringing tangible benefits to Egypt's economic and social development.
