Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned the United States on Monday that any attack on Iran's oil and natural gas infrastructures would provoke "reciprocal responses", according to local media outlets.
He noted that while Iran's oil and gas production chain is "sprawling, accessible, and exposed," U.S. energy companies and facilities in the region would also face similar vulnerabilities.
On the same day, Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari, deputy chief of staff of Iran's Armed Forces, said adversaries sought to sow unrest and instability in Iran through hybrid warfare by stoking internal divisions, but underestimated the country's capabilities and resolve, leading to a serious miscalculation.
They also underestimated Iran's ability to expand the battlefield to a regional level, Heydari added.
He also highlighted the significance of the Strait of Hormuz for both regional and global economic landscape.
