The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, rose 0.07 percent to 99.122 at 15:00 (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.1596 dollars from 1.1613 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound rose to 1.3525 dollars from 1.3513 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 153.72 Japanese yen, lower than 154.32 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8166 Swiss francs from 0.8129 Swiss francs, and it climbed to 1.3865 Canadian dollars from 1.3830 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar increased to 9.7044 Swedish kronor from 9.6782 Swedish kronor.

The fifth batch of emergency aid supplies from China arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, on Friday afternoon, aboard a Y-20 large transport aircraft of the Chinese Air Force.
The shipment includes diesel generators, medical protective masks, mortuary cabinets, DNA testing equipment and reagents, water rescue equipment and other items, which are expected to provide support for Nepal's follow-up operations in the country's mudslide-affected areas.
A fast-moving chain mudslide, triggered by a high-altitude glacier collapse in Nepal, struck the China-Nepal border on Aug. 26, causing heavy casualties and leaving many missing.
The death toll from the devastating mudslide in Nepal had climbed to 1,385 as of 11:00 local time on Friday, according to the latest figures from Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
Another 5,130 people are still unaccounted for, the data showed.
