China-Europe freight train trips from the China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base in east China's Jiangsu Province increased by 9.18 percent year on year to 666 trains in the first eight months of 2026, the latest customs data showed.
During the January-August period, the hub dispatched 54,600 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of goods, according to the data from the Nanjing Customs.
The base has successfully established six major international rail routes, including line connecting the five Central Asian nations, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan route, the China-Russia rail transport route, and the Trans-Caspian route, carrying cargo ranging from automobiles and auto parts, chemical products, home appliances, textiles and apparel, to electronics.
The China-Europe freight train service began operations in 2011 and has grown rapidly since the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. So far, the service has reached 236 cities in 26 European countries and more than 100 cities in 11 other Asian countries, covering nearly the entire Eurasian continent and building a new platform for economic and trade cooperation along the routes.

More than 4,000 overseas enterprises are showcasing their latest technologies and products at this year's China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, as the event continues to serve as a crucial link for global businesses to deepen their presence in the Chinese market.
Global tech giant AMD is focusing on key areas such as cloud computing power and AI agent hosts, helping to drive the latest AI technologies from technical demonstrations to large-scale applications.

This year's CIIE features a record high of over 480 representative exhibits that are making their global, Asian or China debuts.
At Qualcomm's exhibition booth, a 6G terminal prototype is making its first public physical appearance at a major global exhibition, stepping out of the laboratory for the first time.
"As we look forward to the arrival of 6G and the AI era, our circle of friends is getting bigger," said Frank Meng, chairman of Qualcomm China.
"Qualcomm and our partners in China's mobile communications industry are in an organic community. I believe that for a very long period to come, we will continue to achieve win-win cooperation globally based on this foundation," Meng said.
