Angola is ready to deepen multi-field pragmatic cooperation with China with focus on infrastructure upgrading, modernization and artificial intelligence in a bid to seize global development opportunities and advance bilateral strategic alignment, Angola's parliament president said.
Against the dual backdrop of China kicking off its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) and Angola steadily advancing its 2023-2027 National Development Plan, the two countries usher in a new window of opportunity for aligning their development strategies and expanding pragmatic cooperation.
In a recent exclusive interview with the China Media Group, Adao de Almeida, president of the National Assembly of Angola, elaborated on the country's key cooperation areas with China, highlighting the vital role of bilateral partnership in driving Angola's economic diversification and high-quality development.
"In this process, our cooperation is of vital importance. One area is to further develop strategic and critical infrastructure needed for growth. Two examples are the Caculo-Cabaca Hydropower Station and the Caio Deep-Water Terminal in Cabinda. Both are strategic projects of great significance to Angola's development, built jointly in partnership with China," he said.
"For both the present and the future, modernization and artificial intelligence have become a major focus for countries worldwide. China's advances, experience, forward-looking assessments and planning in these fields merit close attention. I believe these are among the areas where Angola seeks to continue cooperating with China under the framework of our comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. We hope to keep pace with this development trend and seize the fast-moving train of global progress," he added.
