CMG's media port in full operation for 2026 Asian Games

The China Media Group-International Media Port (CMG-IMP), host broadcaster for the 20th Asian Games, is operating at full capacity to undertake full-range broadcast services for the sports event, as the Games kicked off in Nagoya, Japan on Saturday.

The company is responsible for producing international broadcast signals, constructing and operating the International Broadcast Center, and providing services for rights-holding broadcasters. It delivers official event signals and professional broadcast support to media outlets across Asia.

A major highlight of this year's event coverage is the innovative cross-border collaborative production model. Instead of concentrating all production and broadcasting resources at the competition venue, the operation leverages cloud networking and artificial intelligence technologies to realize coordinated production across borders.

On-site teams overseas and remote production centers in China undertake respective tailored production procedures. The new model is driving a transformative upgrade in sports event broadcasting, shifting the traditional asset-heavy and labor-intensive operation mode toward a lightweight, intelligent and remote working system, greatly boosting the efficiency and flexibility of international sports event media coverage.

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in which the two sides discussed the latest regional developments, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saturday.

According to the ministry, Dar stressed the importance of uninterrupted energy supplies and the safe and expeditious passage of ships, particularly given their implications for developing countries and global supply chains.

Dar underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means to ensure peace and stability in the region, the ministry said.

The two foreign ministers also agreed to maintain close cooperation, according to the ministry.
