International gold and silver prices closed lower on Monday.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for December delivery dropped 3.54 percent to settle at 4,168.40 U.S. dollars per ounce, while silver futures for December delivery lost 4.76 percent to close at 61.718 dollars per ounce.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a presidential decree on Monday extending the deadline for the mandatory ruble settlement mechanism for natural gas trade from the originally scheduled October 1, 2026 to April 1, 2027.
Under the ruble settlement rule, foreign buyers are required to deposit rubles into the Russian bank accounts of Russian suppliers in order to complete payment.
